Sensual Data: A Techspressionist approach to Science

This project combines oceanographic research with artistic expression to visualize environmental changes in Narragansett Bay over a year. Using a Techspressionist approach, the artists transform scientific data, such as nutrient levels and water temperature, into abstract, layered imagery. Microscopic plankton, both photographed and hand-drawn, are integrated into the artworks to highlight their vital ecological role. By combining observational data, indigenous knowledge, and visual storytelling, the work invites viewers to reflect on the complexity of marine ecosystems and the often-invisible forces that sustain life.
